Deaf Joe’s second album, ‘From The Heights Of A Dream’, follows the release of the debut album ‘Burrowings’ in 2012. It’s a bold change in style, moving away from the fragmented folk of ‘Burrowings’. The new album is released on Delphi on 28th Feb 2014 as a limited edition CD and hardbound book, and as a stream and download.
‘From The Heights Of A Dream’ is built from soundscapes embedded with layers of noise, static and processed acoustic instruments. A narrative runs through the songs from start to finish, the waking dreams of a confused man in modern Ireland. The music and production is influenced by ambient music of a ream of electronic artists such as Alva Noto, Vatican Shadow and Tim Hecker.
“Joe emerges pearl-like from his shell. Sublime songs and divine
inspiration; a potent mix.” – Donal Dineen, Today FM
